Glengoyne 12 Year Old is a cornerstone of the Glengoyne core range: an unpeated Highland single malt matured for 12 years in a balance of European sherry and American bourbon oak casks. It’s made the unhurried way, with slow distillation and unhurried maturation in the distillery’s traditional warehouses, which gives it a naturally smooth, rounded spirit with layers of fruit, malt and gentle spice. Natural colour. 43% vol, 70cl.

Tasting notes 👃
Coconut, honey, lemon zest and a touch of dried oak on the nose. The palate brings toffee apples and warm cinnamon, with ginger, orange and buttery shortbread. The finish is soft and well balanced, with a hint of sherry and gentle oak. Smooth, sweet and entirely smoke-free, so it’s an easy bridge for bourbon drinkers or anyone new to single malt.

Glengoyne is a Highland distillery that prides itself on being the “unhurried” single malt, taking its time over both distillation and maturation. The distillery sits on the Highland Line just north of Glasgow, and it is known for its pure, unpeated style, in which the malt and the casks do the talking. It is owned by Ian Macleod Distillers, the family-owned Scottish company behind Smokehead, and the 12 Year Old sits between the 10 Year Old and the richer 15 and 18 Year Old expressions.
