Drebbel Small Batch London Dry Gin (40% ABV)
A small-batch London Dry gin distilled in Holland, rooted in over a century of Dutch distilling tradition. Named after Cornelis Jacobszoon Drebbel — the Dutch renaissance engineer, inventor and explorer born in Alkmaar in 1572, who built the world's first navigable submarine in 1620 for the English Royal Navy. Eight botanicals, all 100% natural and carefully hand-selected from across the world: Italian juniper berries, Saxony angelica root, Italian orris root (dried for three years before use), Moroccan coriander seeds, Madagascan vanilla, Chinese liquorice, hand-picked Spanish lemon from Murcia, and Indian ginger. The base spirit is distilled from selected grain from French cornfields, and the water is sourced from 100-metre-deep wells in Holland's largest natural park — sandy-ground aquifers considered the purest water in the country.
The nose is clean with fresh citrus and earthy juniper, a hint of spice and vanilla, and an exotic ginger note from the Indian botanical that gives way to a long lavender-tinged finish. On the palate, juniper and coriander lead with the citrus freshness of the hand-picked Spanish lemons, balanced by the creamy sweetness of vanilla, the earthy depth of angelica and orris, and the anise-sweet character of the liquorice. Smooth, balanced and built for a classic G&T — the brand's signature "Drebbel&Tonic" — or a Dry Martini.
