Kōloa Kauaʻi Spice Rum (44% ABV)

A dry, crisp spiced rum from Kōloa Rum Company on Kauaʻi, Hawaiʻi — positioned firmly against the overly sweetened spiced rums that dominate the category. Distilled twice from pure cane sugar in Kōloa's vintage 1,210-gallon steam-powered copper pot still and cut with filtered Mount Waiʻaleʻale water. At 44% ABV, this is a noticeably higher-proof spiced rum than most competitors, which keeps the body lighter and the spice expression cleaner.

Tasting notes: Tawny gold in the glass. The nose shows balanced cola, muted cinnamon and cacao, with baked baklava, honey and freshly chopped walnut. Dry and crisp on the palate — the spice profile follows the nose faithfully, with deeply cooked caramel developing mid-palate and a light sarsaparilla finish. Works well in a classic rum swizzle or as a direct upgrade in a spiced rum and cola serve.
