About the product 🌵
This 25cl format offers an intimate taste of Maestra Engracia’s rare Arroqueño. The semi-wild plants grow for well over a decade in the hills above Sola de Vega before her family harvests them capón. Wet-roasted to minimize smoke, the agave is hand-mashed, fermented in ancient sabino wood, and twice distilled in copper. Each single batch is deliberately small—a true representative of her community's gusto histórico.
Tasting notes 👃
NOSE: Deep and composed; rustic hay and dry stone fruit lead, balanced by tropical papaya and a subtle thread of tree resin.
PALATE: Rich and buttery; sweet roasted agave and cantaloupe give way to complex notes of tree bark and wild herbs.
FINISH: Long, velvety, and mouth-watering, closing on a bright, crisp snap of tart stone fruit.
PROFILE: A deep, masterfully structured Arroqueño expression in a 25cl format. Even a small measure shows why this rare agave is so highly prized; sip mindfully, neat.
About Artesanal 🏭
Engracia Altamirano operates her family's fourth-generation palenque in Sola de Vega, standing as one of the few women in the region to lead production. Rejecting contemporary flavor trends, she works strictly to the gusto histórico—the traditional taste her community has honored for generations. Choosing her products directly supports a female micro-producer, helping to preserve the category of destilados tradicionales.
