Tasting notes 🍊
Creamy milk chocolate and juicy tangerines lead, supported by toasted hazelnut and a clear citrus lift of lemon zest. Over time, honeysuckle florals emerge. The mouthfeel is smooth, the finish clean and medium in length. A balanced dram that works as well with spaghetti vongole as it does with crème brûlée.
About Speyside Distillery 🏔️
Hand-built stone by stone over 28 years, Speyside Distillery began production in 1990 near Kingussie. Known for small-scale output and characterful spirit, it has long been a hidden part of the Highlands whisky story. Production will cease in 2025, making future bottlings ‘lost distillery’ malts. Saltire Rare Malt preserves this legacy, selecting unique casks like this one to showcase Speyside’s understated charm.
